Rotate PDF Pages the Easy Way

Scanned documents and photos saved as PDFs often come out sideways or upside down, making them awkward to read on screen and worse to print. This tool fixes that in seconds: drop in a PDF, choose a rotation, and download a corrected copy. There is no software to install, no account to create, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Because the work happens client-side in your browser, the tool is fast and completely private. Confidential contracts, medical records, and financial statements never touch a server, so there is no risk of them being intercepted, logged, or retained.

How to Use the PDF Rotator

  • Upload your PDF — drag and drop it onto the drop zone or click Choose File. The tool instantly reads and displays the total page count.
  • Choose a rotation — 90° clockwise, 180° to flip upside down, or 90° counter-clockwise. A small preview shows the direction before you commit.
  • Rotate and download — every page is turned and a new file, rotated.pdf, is saved while your original stays untouched.

Lossless and Private by Design

Rotation simply updates each page's orientation flag, so your text, images, and vector graphics remain pixel-perfect and the file size barely changes. All processing is performed locally using the open-source pdf-lib JavaScript library — nothing is sent over the network, nothing is stored, and the tool works offline once loaded. When you need to combine files, split out pages, or remove pages, the related tools below pick up where this one leaves off.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I rotate a PDF?

Drag and drop your PDF onto the drop zone, or click Choose File to select it. The tool reads the document and shows its page count. Pick how far to turn the pages — 90° clockwise, 180° (upside down), or 90° counter-clockwise — then click "Rotate and download". A corrected copy called rotated.pdf is saved to your device while your original file stays unchanged.

Does the rotation apply to every page or just one?

The rotation is applied to every page in the document, added on top of each page's existing orientation. This is ideal for fixing scans where the whole file came in sideways. If a single page already had a rotation, the new angle is combined with it so the visible result is always consistent.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool reads and rotates your PDF entirely inside your browser using the open-source pdf-lib library. Your file is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will keep working, which makes it safe for confidential documents.

Will rotating reduce quality or change the file size?

No. Rotation only updates each page's orientation flag in the PDF — the text, images, and vector content are left exactly as they were, so there is no loss of quality. The saved file size is essentially the same as the original. You can rotate as many times as you like without degrading the document.
