WebToolXis built around a simple principle: your data is yours. Most of what we offer runs entirely inside your browser and never touches our servers. This policy explains exactly what we do — and don't do — with your information.
Free Tools (100% Client-Side)
The vast majority of WebToolX's tools — text utilities, converters, generators, image tools, developer helpers, and calculators — execute entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No file, text, image, or other input you provide to these tools is transmitted to WebToolX's servers or stored anywhere outside your device. When you close the tab, the data is gone.
AI Tools
WebToolX offers a small set of AI-powered tools (summarizer, grammar fixer, rewriter, and similar). When you use an AI tool, the text you submit is sent from your browser to our server-side proxy, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to generate a result. We do not store or log the content of your submissions. Google processes your text under their own Privacy Policy.
To prevent abuse, each AI request is rate-limited using an anonymous identifier derived from a salted hash of your IP address. The raw IP address is never stored — only the one-way hash used to count requests. This counter resets daily.
Optional Account (Firebase Auth)
Creating an account is entirely optional. If you sign in, WebToolX uses Firebase Authentication (a Google service) to manage your session. We store your email address and a unique user ID in Firebase. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Firebase. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at the address below.
localStorage and Browser Storage
WebToolX uses your browser's localStorageto remember your preferences (such as theme or recently used tools) and to maintain anonymous usage counts (for example, tracking your remaining free AI runs for the day). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for webtoolx.com.
Third-Party Services
When enabled, WebToolX may load the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense — may set cookies to show relevant advertisements. You can opt out via Google Ads Settings.
- Google Analytics — collects anonymous usage data (pages visited, session duration, browser type) to help us improve the product. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
WebToolX itself does not set tracking cookies. Any cookies present on the site are set by the third-party services listed above (Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and Firebase Auth for session management).
Children's Privacy
WebToolX is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you (limited to your email address and Firebase Auth record if you have an account). Because the free tools are fully client-side, we hold no data from them at all.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of WebToolX after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
